In line with current guidance we will continue to provide training and competitions as usual. With the situation evolving daily, please ensure that you keep up-to-date with the Team Feed in the OnDeck app and/or our Facebook page and emails. Should the situation change we may have to cancel training or meets at short notice, especially if schools or the leisure centre needs to close. We ask for your patience and understanding at this time.
The Pool Water Treatment and Advisory Group (PWTAG) has been in contact with Public Health England regarding novel coronavirus. A spokesperson for PWTAG said: “Public health opinion is that it is generally safe to go swimming at this time.
“Water and the chlorine within swimming pools will help to kill the virus.
This said, please keep a high level of hygiene at this time, ensuring you shower fully before training and take home and clean your swimming goggles, snorkels and other equipment.
Swimmers are reminded they must fully shower before using the pool and shower on leaving the pool and to follow the necessary hygiene precautions .
These include washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze and do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean.
We kindly request that any members showing any symptoms refrain from training and competitions and follow the Swim England guidance accordingly;
